We trade out of a wonderfully refurbished 4,000 sq. ft premises at 24 Patrick Street, Fermoy, where we believe we have tastefully combined the features that have been there for over a century with a modern and progressive Pharmacy, Health and Beauty business.

The premises is a gorgeous historic building and was originally a furniture shop owned by JJ Barry & Sons. The ornate ceiling which was installed in the 1800’s is pitched pine as a sample of their workmanship and the timber is believed to have been used as ballast for sailing ships returning from the USA.

The black pillar which is listed was supporting a bath in the family home upstairs. The main floor was terrazzo with metal surround which is also listed but was too badly damaged to be re-instated, so a floating floor was put on top to protect the original floor.

Our pharmacy was established in the 1900's at 18 Patrick Street trading as Broderick's. Jimmy Mellerick, who had served his apprenticeship in the 1940’s in Broderick's bought the business in 1951 and renamed it Mellerick's.

Mellerick’s Pharmacy continued to trade out of 18 Patrick Street, Fermoy until 2014 when we moved 2 doors up to our current premises on 24 Patrick Street, Fermoy. Mike McCarthy, MPSI who joined the business in 2005 was the Supervising Pharmacist and is now the current owner of Mellerick's Pharmacy as off 2021.
